Mrs. Gilmer graduated from Central Holmes Christian School in Lexington, Mississippi in 1999 and received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting in 2003. In 2007, Mrs. Gilmer decided to return to school and worked toward her Masters of Education in Teaching Arts. She returned to school and completed her Educational Specialist in Administration and Supervision in 2017. Currently, Mrs. Gilmer is working to complete her Masters of Education in Special Education. She is scheduled to complete her Special Education Masters in December 2018.
Mrs. Gilmer began her teaching career at Yazoo County High School in 2007. She has taught various courses in Mathematics, as well as Business and Computer Technology. Mrs. Gilmer holds teaching licenses in both Mississippi and Arkansas.
Mrs. Gilmer attends various professional developments yearly in order to stay up-to-date on current research and trends in education.
Mrs. GIlmer began teaching in the Midland School District in the 2016-17 school year. Beginning at the high school, Mrs. Gilmer transitioned to the elementary school for the 2017-18 school year. At Midland Elementary, Mrs. Gilmer is serving the the Special Education Resource teacher for English Language Arts and Mathematics.
Mrs. Gilmer began teaching at Yazoo County School District in Yazoo City, Mississippi in 2007. During her six years there, she taught various courses in Mathematics and Business and Computer Technology. Mrs. Gilmer also worked as the Tech Prep Coordinator at Hinds Community College in Mississippi for two year working with Career and Technical Division.
Mrs. Gilmer was married in 2005 to Fred Gilmer. In 2011, they had twins, Edie and Ellie, who attend school in the Midland School District. They have a dog, Bullett, and two cats, Annie and Allie.
When she is not teaching, Mrs. Gilmer enjoys camping with her family and sewing. She also enjoys traveling back to Mississippi to visit with her parents, brother, and three sisters.
