MIDLAND PARTICIPATES IN COMMUNITY ELIGIBILITY PROVISION  

FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2020-2021

July 27, 2020 - Pleasant Plains, AR -- The Midland School District is pleased to announce the district will participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) during the 2020-2021 school year providing meals, regardless of eligibility category, at NO CHARGE for all students through participation in the National School Lunch Program or School Breakfast Program.  CEP is made possible through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Special Assistance Certification and Reimbursement Community Eligibility Provision.  Federal reimbursement for meals is based on the Identified Student Percentage (ISP) established by the District. The information used to establish the ISP will be made available only to State and Federal officials for review.  All adults, e.g., visitors, teachers, support staff members, and administrators of the district must assume the full cost of the meal which is $2.15  for breakfast and $3.65 for lunch.

Midland School District will follow the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) guidelines and the Arkansas Ready for Learning report issued by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) in planning for reopening in the fall.

Dyslexia Information

Midland School District served fifty-four (54) students last year.  Seventeen (17) of those students held a 504 or IEP for dyslexia.  

The programs used to serve the serves are of appropriate range, depending on the age and needs of the student.  Our district utilizes Phonics First Foundations, Phonics First Structures, and Connections.
